Ismael Saibari has been named the Netherlands' Footballer of the Year. The 25-year-old midfielder wins the Gouden Schoen award for his performances in the 2025/26 season with PSV Eindhoven.

Saibari was a key figure in PSV's title-winning squad. He scored 19 goals and provided nine assists across 37 competitive appearances. He also helped secure the Johan Cruijff Shield. The trophy he receives is a gold version of his own boot. "The trophy is one of his boots in gold," Saibari said.

Following his success in Eindhoven, the Moroccan international completed a move to Bayern Munich this summer. His versatility, attacking prowess, and World Cup experience, where he scored three times for Morocco, are viewed as major assets for the German club.

PSV currently sit third in the Eredivisie with 16 points from seven games. Peter Bosz's team has a mixed recent form of three wins, one draw, and one defeat in their last five matches. After a 3-2 loss away to FC Twente last weekend, they face sc Heerenveen at home on October 9. The full fixtures list and current standings are available on the site.
