Rangers Close In on Couhaib Driouech Transfer from PSV Eindhoven
Couhaib Driouech is set to fly to Glasgow today for a medical examination with Rangers. According to Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof, the Moroccan winger will undergo his medical immediately after arriving in Scotland.
If no issues are found during the medical, Driouech is expected to sign a four-year contract with Rangers and become their tenth summer signing. PSV will receive €8 million for the 24-year-old player, which aligns with earlier reports from the Netherlands that stated an €8 million deal was agreed upon between PSV and Rangers.
Driouech Becomes Rangers' Newest Addition
The transfer represents a significant addition to Derek McInnes' Rangers squad. After playing for PSV for two years, Driouech will join as the eighth new signing of the summer. The Moroccan winger joined PSV from Excelsior in 2024 and made 61 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists.
His European experience is also a major attraction for Rangers, having featured in the Champions League during his time at PSV, including a memorable chip against Liverpool at Anfield. Driouech's transfer follows Rangers' decision to intensify their pursuit after an initial offer was rejected. The Ibrox club ultimately won the race for his signature despite interest from Celta Vigo.
The deal is now dependent on Driouech successfully completing his medical and signing a contract with Rangers. If everything proceeds as expected, the winger will become the latest addition to McInnes' attacking options as Rangers continue their recruitment drive.
Driouech Misses Europa League Match
However, despite the timing of his arrival, Driouech will not be available for Thursday's Europa League second leg against Jagiellonia Bialystok due to UEFA's registration rules for the qualifying round. His Rangers debut will therefore have to wait until he completes his medical and signs a contract.
