PSV Eindhoven were held to a draw by a late Fortuna strike in their opening Eredivisie match of the season. The visitors scored a goal in injury time to deny PSV an opening-day win.
The match was played at the Philips Stadion, where PSV were missing several key players due to injuries and suspensions. Despite this, they took the lead through Noah Fernandez in the 74th minute, but Édouard Michut equalised for Fortuna in injury time.
Feyenoord won their first Rotterdam derby of the season against Sparta Rotterdam, but only after two goals were disallowed in injury time. Ajax also won their match against PEC Zwolle, while Excelsior topped the Eredivisie table after a 4-0 win at Cambuur Leeuwarden.
