PSV and Feyenoord Consider Lutsharel Geertruida
The defender from Rotterdam is an interesting option for both clubs, but RB Leipzig demands a high fee. According to Mike Verweij from De Telegraaf, PSV had already expressed interest in Geertruida in 2024, but they would prefer a loan agreement.
High Price and Late Arrival
RB Leipzig is asking for a transfer fee of twenty million euros for the defender. PSV did not offer Myron Boadu a contract earlier because they wanted to keep funds back for defensive reinforcements.
‘PSV already have Alassane Pléa, Ricardo Pepi and Guus Til in attack,’ explains Verweij. ‘In Eindhoven, Geertruida is being mentioned very emphatically as a reinforcement for the defence.’
Potential Feyenoord Involvement
Feyenoord is also interested in the defender, but the transfer process has not been finalized yet. ‘Geertruida’s arrival still seems a long way off,’ says Verweij.
‘Later in the transfer window it could still happen, but I don’t think it will be done today.’
No Place at Leipzig
Lutsharel Geertruida is not in RB Leipzig's plans and he is free to look for another club. He spent time on loan at Sunderland last season, but they decided not to exercise their option to buy.
No Deal Yet
According to Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV had already offered a personal contract to Geertruida, but there is still no deal with RB Leipzig. Feyenoord has also reportedly contacted the defender's entourage.
The situation around Lutsharel Geertruida remains uncertain and it could take some time before we know if a transfer will happen.
