PSV Eindhoven suffered a painful defeat in the Eredivisie on Sunday. Despite two goals from Guus Til in three minutes, Peter Bosz's side lost 3-2 away to FC Twente.

The home side took the lead at the Grolsch Veste stadium after fourteen minutes through Younes Taha El Idrissi. PSV quickly turned the game around. In the twenty-sixth minute, Guus Til headed home from a cross by Mauro Júnior. Three minutes later, the midfielder was on target again, this time assisted by Paul Wanner. The Eindhoven side went into the break with a lead.

In the second half, PSV continued to have more possession, but Twente created the bigger chances. The equaliser came ten minutes from time. Wout Weghorst headed in a cross from substitute Daan Rots. Less than five minutes later, Daouda Weidmann secured the win for the Tukkers with a powerful header. PSV could not find a response in the closing stages.

Line-up

Peter Bosz started with Matej Kovář in goal. Sergiño Dest, Lutsharel Geertruida, Armando Obispo and Mauro Júnior formed the defence. Kodai Sano and Paul Wanner played centrally in midfield. Ivan Perišić, Guus Til and Ruben van Bommel supported striker Ricardo Pepi, who was injured and replaced by Sven Mijnans as early as the tenth minute. Later, Esmir Bajraktarević and Ryan Flamingo also came on.

The defeat ends the perfect start to the season. PSV remains top of the Eredivisie with sixteen points from six games. The team now has three wins, one draw and one loss in its last five league matches. The next opportunity for points is on 9 October, when sc Heerenveen visits the Philips Stadion.
